All day
Halwa puri at nine in the morning. Nihari at nine at night.
The room
Long tables, good light, no one asking you to leave.
Birmingham has plenty of places to buy chai. It doesn’t have anywhere to drink it slowly — a room that pours properly, stays open late, and doesn’t mind how long you stay.
So we’re building one. A tea house in the old sense: somewhere between your house and everyone else’s, where the kettle never really goes off.
